Discogs Launches New Sales Data For Best Selling Records List
The September 2018 Sales Data Dives Into Release Variant Level Providing More Accuracy In Sales And Trends

This month, the Discogs Top 50 Best Selling Records Of September 2018 will look atypical as Discogs continues to refine how sales data is determined. As of today, Discogs’ best selling list examines the data at the individual release variant level rather than grouping all variants under a master release title. The specificity provided on the release variant level will circumvent titles like the 806 release variants of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon overtaking Aphex Twin's September 14th release of Collapse EP with only 6 physical release variants properly landing at #1 this month.

Discogs' Discography Specialist, Brent Greissle further explains that "by breaking up these monoliths, we hope to more accurately reflect what’s actually selling well in recent trends. This list should be a breath of fresh air, with only a small handful of the usual staples making the list." Check out the entire chart of Discogs Top 50 Best Selling Records Of September 2018 HERE.
